Bulgaria cuts natural gas price by 14.26 per cent

Bulgaria’s Energy and Water Regulatory Commission said on September 30 that the natural gas price was being lowered by 14.26 per cent from the third-quarter price to 415.20 leva (about 212 euro) a 1000 cubic metres for the period from October 1 to December 31 2015.

The price does not include VAT or excise duty.

The regulator has been bringing down the price of natural gas throughout 2015. The current reduction from the third-quarter price brings to the total reduction so far to 31.16 per cent.

The regulator also announced on September 30 that it was reducing the heating price in Sofia and six other large cities and towns, but increasing it in Plovdiv, by 0.7 per cent.

The decrease in the heating price will be 4.3 per cent in Sofia, 1.24 per cent in Varna, 0.93 per cent in Bourgas, 0.14 per cent in Veliko Turnovo, 3.91 per cent in Vratsa and 3.85 per cent in Razgrad.
