Failed Russian spacecraft burns up

An unmanned Russian supply ship has burned up over the Pacific Ocean after a failed cargo run to the International Space Station.

The Russian space agency said the spacecraft fell into the earth’s atmosphere Friday loaded with tons of food, fuel and supplies that were not delivered to the International Space Station.

The Progress spacecraft began its trek to the space station on April 28 and a short time later mission control lost contact with it.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
