What’s on: Chambao to play in Sofia, Varna in June 2015
Nearly a year to the day, Spanish electronic music and flamenco fusion band Chambao will return to Sofia’s National Palace of Culture (NDK) Hall 1 on June 5, the site of their last concert in Bulgaria in 2014.
Bulgaria has been a frequent stop for Chambao in recent years, although the gig on June 6 2014 at NDK was the first in Sofia in years, the band straying off the beaten path to play in Plovdiv, Varna and Bourgas. Chambao’s distinctive style, dubbed flamenco chill (after the band’s debut album) and the voice of lead singer Lamari (Maria del Mar Rodríguez Carnero) have won the band numerous fans around the world, Bulgaria included.
The band is said to be currently recording a new album in Madrid and Chambao is expected to play some of the new songs at the concert in Sofia, the organisers said.
Tickets, ranging from 30 leva to 60 leva, can be bought at the NDK ticket boots or online at eventim.bg.
