Poland’s Independence Day celebrations turn violent
Poland’s Independence Day celebrations in Warsaw on Tuesday were disrupted by violent riots for the fourth year in a row as hundreds of masked young people, who broke away from a far-right march, threw stones, flares and paving slabs at lines of riot police.
Police responded with water cannons and rubber bullets fired into the air to disperse the rioters, most of them wearing balaclavas and hoods.
