Canadian troops join Nato exercises in Poland

Fifty soldiers from Canada arrived in Poland on May 2 to take part alongside Polish and American counterparts in US-led military exercises in Swidwin, northwestern Poland, May 5-9, as part of the Nato response to Russian aggression towards Ukraine.

“The (Vladimir) Putin regime’s persistent military aggression and its ongoing illegal occupation of Crimea and other parts of Ukraine threaten the stability and security of central and eastern Europe,” Canadian PM Stephen Harper said.
