What’s On: Todorov and Dimov at New Symphony Orchestra concert on May 7
Stanimir Todorov will be on cello and Dimo Dimov on piano when the New Symphony Orchestra presents, with the support of the embassy of Argentina to Bulgaria, works by Franck, Rachmaninoff and Alberto Ginastera on May 7 2014 at the National Palace of Culture, NDK, Hall 11.
Todorov, who began learning the cello at seven at music school in Sofia and whose studies took him on to the Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad, has won major awards and worked with various orchestras internationally, currently is associate soloist at the Orchestra of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and first cello at the Camerata Bariloche.
Professor Dimov is a veteran and much-awarded pianist who has performed before audiences worldwide.
Pampeana no 2 by Ginastera, the third item on the programme, is the work of the Argentinian considered one of the most important classical music composers of the Americas.
