What’s on: Chambao returns to Bulgaria on June 6

Spanish electronic music and flamenco fusion band Chambao returns yet again to Bulgaria and will play Sofia’s National Palace of Culture (NDK) Hall 1 on June 6.

This will be Chambao’s first concert in Sofia in some time – the band has often gone off the beaten path, playing concerts in Plovdiv, Varna and Bourgas (both in 2007 and 2012), but no in the Bulgarian capital city.

Chambao’s distinctive style, dubbed flamenco chill (after the band’s debut album) and the voice of lead singer Lamari (Maria del Mar Rodríguez Carnero) have won the band numerous fans around the world, Bulgaria included.

Chambao has a definite summer vibe to its music – created in 2001 in the Spanish city of Malaga, ahead of a summer-welcoming festival, the band takes its name from the Malaga region word for a temporary structure one builds on the beach as protection against the sun and rain.

Tickets, ranging from 30 leva to 70 leva, can be bought at the NDK ticket boots or online at eventim.bg.
