What’s On: Mindya Rock Festival
The 2013 Mindya Rock Festival, featuring 15 of Bulgaria’s top rock bands, closes on August 24 2013 on its second day.
The festival finale features Bulgarian rock legend Vasko The Patch and the Poduene Blues Band.
The event, held annually in August since 2009, is the brainchild of political scientist Evgeni Daynov.
Mindya is in the Veliko Turnovo region, about 17km from that city, close to the town of Elena.
For English-speakers, an additional attraction at the festival is the bookstall of English-language books run by British expatriates resident in Veliko Turnovo, The Book Cave.
