Russian tourist injured in balcony fall in Bulgaria’s Sunny Beach
A 37-year-old Russian tourist was injured after falling two storeys from the balcony of her hotel room in Bulgaria’s popular Black Sea summer resort of Sunny Beach on June 30, the police department in Bourgas said on July 3.
The woman suffered a concussion and was taken to a Bourgas hospital, but she was in no immediate danger. Her seven-year-old daughter, who also fell from the balcony, was unharmed.
According to the police report, the two fell after the mother tried to drag her daughter away from the balcony.
This is the fifth case of a tourist falling from a balcony in Sunny Beach since mid-June, when a 19-year-old Briton died following a 10-storey fall. Most recently, an 18-year-old Dutch tourist died after falling four storeys from a balcony, on June 30.
According to a report by Bulgarian television station bTV, there had been 14 such cases in Sunny Beach last summer.
