Eight companies get gongs at Bulgarian Investor of the Year awards
Eight companies received awards from Invest Bulgaria investment promotion agency on January 15 at the agency’s seventh annual awards gala.
“Although the profile of investors is changing, the trend remains the same – each year we give out more awards because of the increasing number of interesting projects,” Invest Bulgaria executive director Borislav Stefanov said.
In his address, President Rossen Plevneliev said that in order to fight unemployment and ensure stable economic growth, Bulgaria had to persevere in encouraging investment activity, improving the business climate in the country and the justice system.
“Investment is important for Bulgaria, regardless of their size. Every investor and every lev of investment have their value,” he said.
The companies awarded are: Litex Motors (for launching the assembly line of Great Wall Motors cars near Lovech), ALC Bulgaria (for starting production of leather upholstery parts for BMW near Sofia), Ingram Micro (for opening a shared services centre in Sofia), Reichle & de-Massari (for opening a high-tech fibre-optic components production facility in Sofia), Pentax Medical Bulgaria (for opening a medical equipment repairs and service facility in Plovdiv), Prestij 96 (for opening a new confectionery production facility in Veliko Turnovo), Biovet (for opening a drew veterinary drugs production facility in Razgrad), and SofiaMed Clinic (for opening a new hospital in Sofia, the largest private sector investment in the health care sector in 20 years).
