Bulgaria joins in European Researchers’ Night on September 28

Researchers’ Night takes place on September 28 2012 in 300 cities all over Europe – including seven Bulgarian cities.
The cities are Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Bourgas, Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Pleven.
Researchers’ Nights are planned as are family events dedicated to popular science and fun learning, according to the event’s website. “They are about showing what researchers really do for society, in interactive and engaging ways. This can be through hands-on experiments, science shows, learning activities for children, guided visits of research labs, science quizzes and more.”
According to the website of the Bulgarian events, the programme in Sofia includes a demonstration of advanced electronic infrastructure for scientific computing, every hour from 4pm to 7pm for groups of 20 people, at the Bulgarian Academy of Science; events at the Vivacom Art Hall, including maths puzzles and “fun with science” among other items on a comprehensive programme. There are also events at the Technical University Sofia.
