Sofia Airport opens smokers’ lounge
A new smoking room opened at Sofia Airport’s Terminal 2 on August 30 2012.
Those who want to indulge in a cigarette before the flight, however, will literally pay the price. While admission to the smokers’ lounge is free to those with business class tickets, others will have to pay 14 euro. Snacks and drinks are included in the price. The admission charge, also payable as 28 leva, allows a user in the room for three hours.
According to the airport, the ventilation system allows the room to be used by up to 52 people.
Until now, only Terminal 1 had a smoking room.
Sofia Airport plans to open a smoking room to which all will have access, free of charge, in a few months’ time.
At the beginning of summer 2012, Bulgarian anti-smoking laws were expanded to provide for a ban on smoking in all enclosed public spaces.
