Poll: Business sentiment in Bulgaria largely unchanged in February 2026

A regular monthly poll by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) has found business sentiment in Bulgaria in February largely unchanged compared with January.

As The Sofia Globe reported previously, business sentiment in Bulgaria improved sharply in January 2026, after a downturn in December 2025.

In February, the indicator of the business climate in the industry sector was up by 0.8 percentage points, with managers more positive about the business situation, though their opinions about present production activity were more reserved, while their forecasts about the next three months were favourable.

In the retail trade, the indicator was up by 1.7 percentage points, with managers expectations about the business situation in the next six months improved, and their forecasts about both the volume of sales and orders to be placed with suppliers over the next three months were more optimistic.

In the service sector, the indicator was unchanged. Managers’ forecasts about business in the sector over the next six months had improved and their expectations about the demand for services over the next three months were favourable.

In the construction sector, the indicator was down by 1.4 percentage points, with managers reserved about the business situation. However, compared with January, their expectations about construction activity in the short term had improved.
