NSI poll: Business sentiment in Bulgaria unchanged in November

A regular monthly poll by the National Statistical Institute (NSI), the results of which were released on November 28, has found business sentiment in Bulgaria largely unchanged in November, with downturns in the industry, construction and service sectors while sentiment in the retail trade had improved.

The indicator in the industry sector dropped by 0.9 percentage points compared with October, with managers more reserved about the business situation.

The construction sector saw the largest drop, 6.3 percentage points, with managers pessimistic in their assessments and expectations.

In the service sector, the indicator was down by 1.7 percentage points, with managers holding worsened views about the business situation in the coming six months.

In contrast, in the retail trade, the indicator was up by 9.7 percentage points, with managers optimistic about the business situation, and holding improved views of the volume of sales over the past three months and improved expectations about the coming three months.
