Bulgarian Navy personnel responded to three reports of potentially dangerous objects along the country’s Black Sea coast, the Navy said on August 14.
A specialist team from the Varna Naval Base reconnoitered a drifting object found 50 metres from the shore, near the village of Tyulenovo, Dobrich district. The team identified the object as a starter motor.
Specialists from the Naval Base Bourgas examined a drone thrown from the sea, found on the beach of Primorsko, Bourgas district. The unmanned aerial vehicle was identified as a reconnaissance drone.
Military personnel also responded to a report about parts of a drone found on the beach in the area of the village of Lozenets, Bourgas district.
In order to ensure the safety of shipping and tourism, specialist teams from the Navy transported the objects to the Naval Bases in Varna and Bourgas, strictly observing safety measures, the Navy said.
