NSI: Business sentiment in Bulgaria improved slightly in July
Business sentiment in Bulgaria improved slightly in July compared with June, according to a poll by the National Statistical Institute (NSI), the results of which were released on July 30.
In July 2026, the total business climate indicator increased by 0.7 percentage points compared with June, pushed up by increases in the indicators in Bulgaria’s industry and construction sectors.
The indicator in the industry sector was up by 1.1 percentage points, with managers positive about the business situation.
However, in their opinion, the new orders inflow over the past three months had decreased, and their expectations for production activity over the next three months remain unfavourable.
The indicator in the construction sector was up by 4.5 percentage points, with managers favourable about the business situation and expecting an increase in orders in the coming six months.
The indicator was in the retail trade was unchanged from June, while retailers’ opinions about the volume of sales over the past three months, as well as their expectations over the next three months had improved.
In the service sector, the indicator was down by 2.8 percentage points. Managers were reserved about the business situation over the next six months. Their opinions about both the current and the expected demand for services were also unfavourable, the NSI said.
