Bulgaria issues weather warnings over heavy rain forecast for July 22

Bulgaria’s national meteorological bureau has issued the Code Orange warning of hazardous weather for several districts for July 22 because of forecast heavy rain.

The districts subject to the Code Orange warning are Bourgas, Varna, Dobrich, Yambol, Shoumen, Turgovishte, Razgrad and Silistra.

All but three of the remaining districts are subject to the lesser Code Yellow warning of potentially dangerous weather on July 22, also because of the heavy rain.

The three districts that are the exception – classified Code Green, meaning that no warning is in place – are Sofia city, Pernik and Kyustendil.

Maximum temperatures on July 22 will be mainly between 25° and 30° Celsius, in Sofia, around 24°.

At the seaside, rain clouds will form around and after noon, and in many places there will short but intense rainfall with thunderstorms, while hail is also forecast. Maximum temperatures will be between 25° and 28°. The sea water temperature is 23°-25°, north of Cape Kaliakra, about 19° C.
