Eurostat: Unemployment in Bulgaria in May 2026 was 2.9%
The unemployment rate in Bulgaria in May 2026 was 2.9 per cent, up from 2.8 per cent in April 2026 and down from 3.5 per cent in May 2025, European Union statistics agency Eurostat said on July 2, citing seasonally-adjusted data.
In the euro zone in May 2026, unemployment was 6.2 per cent, unchanged from April 2026 and down from 6.3 per cent in May 2025.
Across the EU, unemployment in May 2026 was 5.9 per cent, unchanged from April 2026 and down from six per cent in May 2025.
In Bulgaria, youth unemployment in May 2026 was 11.5 per cent, up from 11.1 per cent in April 2026 and down from 14 per cent in May 2025.
In the euro zone, youth unemployment in May 2026 was 14.7 per cent, the same figure as in April 2026 and in May 2025.
Across the EU, youth unemployment in May 2026 was 15.2 per cent, up from 15.1 per cent in April 2026 and from 15 per cent in May 2025, Eurostat said.
