Military to travel Bulgaria’s roads and rail for scheduled exercise

Military personnel and equipment will travel on Bulgaria’s national roads and railways from May 26 to June 13 in connection with the upcoming live-fire exercise Strike Back 26, the Defence Ministry said.

The exercise involves army personnel from Bulgaria, Romania, the United States, Türkiye and the Nato Multinational Battle Group and will be held at the Koren training ground near Haskovo, the ministry said.

Formations from the rotational contingent of the US Army and the Nato Multinational Battle Group in Bulgaria will move from the Novo Selo Training Range to the Koren Training Range on May 31 and June 1.

Members of the armed forces of Türkiye and Romania will move from the border crossings to the Koren training ground on June 1.

The convoys will be escorted by representatives of the Military Police, the Defence Ministry said.
