Bulgaria issues weather warnings over heavy rain forecast for April 30
Bulgaria’s national meteorological bureau has issued the Code Orange warning of dangerous weather for several districts for April 30 because of forecast heavy rain.
The districts subject to the Code Orange warning are Plovdiv, Sofia district (as distinct from the district of Sofia city), Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Lovech, Pazardzhik, Smolyan, Kurdzhali and Blagoevgrad.
Several other districts are subject to the lesser Code Yellow warning of potentially dangerous weather, also because of forecast rain: Sofia city, Kyustendil, Pernik, Gabrovo, Haskovo, Veliko Turnovo and Stara Zagora.
The remain districts, in the eastern half of the country, are classified Code Green for April 30, meaning that no weather warning is in place.
The meteorological bureau said that there would be snow in mountainous areas.
Minimum temperatures will be between 5° and 10° Celsius, in Sofia – about 7°. Maximums will be from 8° – 10° in northern Bulgaria and up to 16° – 18° in places in southern Bulgaria, while in Sofia the maximum temperature will be about 9°.
It will be cloudy and rainy along the Black Sea coast.
