Bulgaria’s Defence Ministry announces military movements for planned exercises

The tactical special exercise Logistic Support 26-1 will be held from April 27 to April 30 at the Todorovo site, Bulgaria’s Defence Ministry said on April 24.

The theme of the exercise is “Deployment of a convoy support centre to ensure the movement of allied forces on the territory of the country”, the ministry said.

Up to 200 military personnel and up to 50 units of equipment from the military formations of the Logistic Support Command from Sofia and Lovech will participate in it.

In connection with the exercise on April 27 and 30, personnel and military equipment will be moved from Sofia and Lovech to the Todorovo yard near Pleven along national roads. The military columns will be escorted by Military Police.

On April 27 and 28, the movement of military personnel, vehicles and equipment of the Polish Armed Forces will take place along national roads to participate in the Nato exercise Tiger Meet 2026 in Greece. After the end of the exercise, on May 16 and 17, they will return through Bulgaria.

From April 28 to May 1, railway trains of the Swedish Armed Forces will also pass through Bulgaria, the Defence Ministry said.
