Ski slopes at Bulgaria’s three major mountain resorts to remain open into Orthodox Easter 2026
Thanks to heavy snowfalls, there will be open ski slopes during the 2026 Orthodox Easter weekend at Bulgaria’s three major mountain resorts.
Bansko said on its official website that the ski zone will be open until the Orthodox Easter Monday on April 13, which will be the final day of the resort’s 2025-26 winter season.
Pamporovo said on its website that the Mechi Chal ski zone is officially closed, but the Pamporovo ski zone will remain open until April 12 inclusive.
Similarly, the ski area in Borovets will be open until April 12 inclusive.
Across Bulgaria, while the week is beginning with pleasant weather conditions, the weather will become cooler from April 9, with rain in several places in the country, and snow in some northern and mountainous regions.
On Saturday and Sunday it will be relatively cold, cloudy, with precipitation mainly in the form of rain. In the night hours in the Fore-Balkans, in places in northern Bulgaria and the high fields in western Bulgaria it will also snow. Minimum temperatures will be close to zero, and maximum temperatures will be between 5° and 10° Celsius, higher on Sunday in eastern Bulgaria.
