Bulgarian accommodation establishments’ revenue up 15.2% in January 2026 y/y
The total revenue from nights spent in accommodation establishments in Bulgaria in January 2026 was 15.2 per cent higher than in January 2025, reaching 66.5 million euro, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on March 11.
Of this total, 36.1 million euro came from residents of Bulgaria and 30.4 million euro from non-residents, the NSI said.
The number of arrivals in accommodation establishments increased by 0.8 per cent compared with January 2025, reaching 490 689.
Arrivals of non-residents increased by 0.8 per cent, while arrivals by residents were up by 0.7 per cent.
Residents of Bulgaria spent two nights on average and non-residents, 2.8 nights. Among non-residents, 79.6 per cent spent nights in four- and five-star accommodation.
The total occupancy of the bed-places was 26.9 per cent, a decrease of 1.3 percentage points compared with January 2025.
The highest occupancy of the bed-places was in 4 and 5-star accommodation establishments – 38.3 per cent, followed by those with 3 stars – 22.6 per cent, and with 1 and 2 stars – 13.7 per cent, the NSI said.
