Bulgaria’s Tourism Ministry launches international advertising campaign on National Geographic, 24 Kitchen

Bulgaria’s Ministry of Tourism has launched a large-scale international advertising campaign on the National Geographic and 24 Kitchen channels, part of The Walt Disney Company Ltd and Warner Bros, the ministry said on March 20.

The television advertising to promote Bulgaria as a destination for congress, culinary and wine tourism launched on March 20 in nine countries and will continue until the end of April.

A parallel digital campaign is being conducted, which includes the popular pre-roll format with new clips on YouTube.

The media partnership includes the broadcast of 2430 TV spots in nine strategic markets in Europe.

They are distributed between the National Geographic channels covering the UK, France, Poland, Germany and Spain, and those of 24 Kitchen in the Netherlands, Serbia, Slovenia and Croatia. More than 50 per cent of the clips will be broadcast during prime time on television programmes.

 “This is another step in our strategy to present Bulgaria as a destination with rich cultural and culinary potential,” Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh said.

“Wine and gastronomy, together with congress tourism, are key elements in the development of our tourism sector and the creation of experiences that remain in the hearts of visitors.

“Through our partnership with National Geographic and 24 Kitchen, we reach millions of travellers who are looking for authentic and inspiring destinations,” Borshosh said.

A team from the television giant’s group spent several days in Bulgaria, especially for this partnership, to film two 30-second clips promoting our country in the key areas of “Wine and Gastronomy” and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism.

The Ministry of Tourism and National Geographic have successful long-term cooperation, and this campaign is part of the Annual Programme for National Tourism Advertising, the statement said.

The main goal is to establish Bulgaria as an attractive and safe tourist destination with diverse tourism opportunities throughout the year.

National Geographic is a leading global media, reaching 760 million households around the world. The media ranks first in consumer trust and is aimed at lovers of travel, culture and nature.
