Bulgaria’s Liberation Day long weekend: Rainy, snowy weather forecast

Bulgaria’s long weekend from March 1 to Liberation Day on March 3 will see rain in many places in the country and in the mountains, snow at altitudes above 1200 metres, the national meteorological bureau said.

The wind will gradually shift from the northwest, and will be mostly weak.

Temperatures will slightly drop, with an average minimum of four degrees Celsius on March 1, rising to a maximum nine degrees C, a minimum two degrees C on March 2, rising to a maximum seven, and a low of one degree C on March 3, rising to a maximum seven.

On Monday, Bulgaria’s national day, in the eastern half of the country, the wind will turn northeast and it will get a little colder. Rain will ease and it will be less cloudy.
