Foreign visitor arrivals in Bulgaria for holidays in January 2025 up 6.5% y/y

There were a total of 283 820 arrivals of visitors from abroad in Bulgaria in January 2025, an increase of 6.5 per cent compared with January 2024, according to data posted by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) on February 27.

Of the total, 114 115 were from other European Union countries and 138 779 from other European countries.

The number of arrivals for holidays in Bulgaria in January included 48 837 from Türkiye, 39 272 from North Macedonia, 35 426 from Greece, 33 726 from Romania, 27 546 from Serbia, 16 200 from the United Kingdom, 14 914 from Israel and 12 390 from Germany, the NSI said.
