Two more districts in Bulgaria declare flu epidemics
Two more districts in Bulgaria have declared flu epidemics, bringing the total to seven out of 27, according to a statement by the Health Ministry on January 23.
From January 24, temporary anti-epidemic measures are being introduced in Dobrich. They will be valid until January 30.
In the Veliko Turnovo district, the measures will be in effect from January 27 to February 4. The mandatory wearing of a medical face mask by medical and non-medical staff in medical institutions, as well as by patients, will also be introduced.
The epidemic declaration in Vidin is extended until February 2, suspending the in-person learning process and the conduct of extracurricular activities and organized activities with pupils in Vidin municipality.
Temporary measures are in force in five other districts: Varna, Haskovo, Yambol, Plovdiv and Blagoevgrad.
In all, preventive examinations, mandatory immunizations and re-immunizations, and scheduled consultations of healthy pregnant women and children have been suspended by orders of the directors of the relevant RHIs, as well as visits to medical institutions for inpatient care and to specialized institutions for the provision of social services and residential social services for children and adults.
