Bulgaria issues weather warnings for heavy rain forecast for October 5
Bulgaria’s national weather bureau has issued the Code Orange warning of dangerous weather for several districts for October 5 because of forecast heavy rain.
The districts subject to the Code Orange warning are Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Turnovo, Rousse, Tugovishte, Gabrovo, Lovech, Sofia district (as distinct from the Sofia city district), Montana, Razgrad and Blagoevgrad.
The lesser Code Yellow warning of potentially dangerous weather has been issued for Saturday for a number of other districts: Sofia city, Kyustendil, Vidin, Silistra, Razgrad, Shoumen, Sliven, Stara Zagora, Plovdiv, Kurdzhali and Smolyan.
The remaining districts are classified Code Green, meaning that no weather warning is in place.
Maximum temperatures will be 19 to 20 degrees Celsius in western parts of Bulgaria, 29 to 30 degrees in the eastern parts, and in capital city Sofia, about 19 to 20 degrees, the national weather bureau said.
