Foreign Ministry: Flights between Bulgaria and Israel suspended
The chairman of the Israel’s Airport Authority Committee Pinhas Idan announced on March 27 the suspension of all flights leaving Israel, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry said.
Landing of aircraft at Ben Gurion Airport is permitted only for aircraft already en route to the destination, according to the announcement, made at 10.30am on Monday, the ministry said.
The measure was taken as a result of the announced national strike in response to the Israeli government’s proposed judicial reform, according to the Foreign Ministry statement.
The embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Israel advises all Bulgarian citizens in Israel to exercise special care and vigilance during their trip to the country, to avoid places with ongoing demonstrations and large gatherings of people.
There is currently no information regarding the resumption of flights to and from Israel, the Foreign Ministry said.
