Covid-19 in Bulgaria: Death toll exceeds 20 000-mark
The death toll in Bulgaria among those who have tested positive for Covid-19 has exceeded the 20 000-mark, according to the September 20 report by the Health Ministry, with 43 deaths registered in the past 24 hours, bringing Bulgaria’s death toll linked to the disease to 20 028.
Of 4740 tests for Covid-19 done in Bulgaria in the past day, 458 – about 9.66 per cent – proved positive, according to the report.
To date, 482 186 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria, of which 38 734 are active, a decrease of 654 in the past day.
The September 20 report said that 1069 people in Bulgaria were registered in the past day as having recovered from the virus, bringing the total to date to 423 424.
There are 4750 patients with confirmed Covid-19 in hospital in Bulgaria, an increase of 47 in the past day, with 391 in intensive care, a decrease of five.
According to the report, to date 14 217 medical personnel in Bulgaria have tested positive, including one on Sunday.
The report said that to date, 2 463 666 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 had been administered in Bulgaria, including 1697 on Sunday.
A total of 1 276 139 people in Bulgaria have completed the vaccination cycle, including 1264 on Sunday, going by the figures in the report.
