Bulgarian 2021 census household visits to begin on September 18
Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on September 17 that household visits by enumerators in the ongoing 2021 census will begin, as scheduled, on September 18.
The extension of the online phase of the census to September 30, decreed by the caretaker Cabinet on September 16, will have no impact on the enumerators’ visits, which have been scheduled in advance, NSI said.
This in-person stage of the census is set to end on October 3. Enumerators will visit households every day, including at the weekend and the September 22 Independence Day public holiday, between 8am and 8pm.
Although enumerators will have access to the unique codes assigned to people who completed the census online, those individuals were advised to save a copy of their code, NSI said.
The statistics body also said that enumerators have been directed to observe social distancing and other anti-epidemic measures and have been issued personal protection equipment.
