Unemployment in Bulgaria in August 2018 was 5.2% – Eurostat
Unemployment in Bulgaria in August 2018 was 5.2 per cent, up from the previous month but down from 6.2 per cent in August 2017, according to seasonally-adjusted figures released by EU statistics agency Eurostat on October 1.
At the end of August 2018, Eurostat said that unemployment in Bulgaria in July 2018 was 4.8 per cent, unchanged from June and down from 6.2 per cent in July 2017.
The increase in unemployment in Bulgaria in August 2018 was the first in many months, though the figure remains below the EU average for that month, which was 6.8 per cent.
While the August 2018 figure for unemployment represented an estimated 173 000 people, this was down from 207 000 in the same month a year earlier.
