Unemployment in Bulgaria in July 2018 was 4.8% – Eurostat
Unemployment in Bulgaria in July 2018 was 4.8 per cent, unchanged from June and down from 6.2 per cent in July 2017, according to figures released on August 31 by EU statistics agency Eurostat.
While the percentage was unchanged, Eurostat estimated that the June 2018 figure represented 161 000 people in Bulgaria, while its estimate for July 2018 was 160 000.
For several months, Eurostat figures have shown a consistent trend in Bulgaria of unemployment reducing, while it also has been below average unemployment in the EU.
Eurostat said that youth unemployment in Bulgaria in July 2018 was 11.1 per cent, up from 11 per cent the previous month.
