In March 2018, Sofia Opera and Ballet is presenting productions of Puccini’s Turandot, Delibes’s Lakmé and Lyubomir Pipkov’s Yana’s Nine Brothers.

The performance of Turandot is on March 2 at 7pm.

The cast includes Gabriela Georgieva, Miroslav Andreev, Giorgi Kirof (Timur), Silvana Prucheva, Atanas Mladenov, Nikolay Pavlov, Hrisimir Damianov and Nikolay Petrov. The orchestra will be conducted by Grigor Palikarov.

Lyubomir Pipkov’s opera Yana’s Nine Brothers premieres on March 22 at 7pm, with further performances on March 28, 29 and 30 at the same time.

The role of the mother will be performed by Ivanka Ninova and Rumyana Petrova, respectively, Yana by Gabriela Georgieva, Lilia Kehayova and Mariana Zvetkova, Georgi Groznika by Petar Buchkov and Svetozar Rangelov, Angel by Kostadin Andreev and Hrisimir Damyanov, and the other brothers by Angel Antonov, Emil Pavlov, Kalin Dushkov, Rosen Nenchev, Valentin Vatev, Nikolay Voynov and Stefan Dimitrov.

Lakmé, an opera in three acts by Léo Delibes to a French libretto by Edmond Gondinet and Philippe Gille, will be performed on March 23 at 7pm.

The cast is Bisser Georgiev, Diana Vasileva in the title role, Diana Genova, Miroslav Andreev, Daniel Ostretsov, Atanas Mladenov, Elena Stoyanova, Silvana Prvcheva, Rumiana Petrova, Slavi Manov, Vanyo Dimitrov, Kiril Stoyanov. Conductor: Francesco Rosa.
