Plovdiv’s Markovo Tepe Mall to open on October 28 2016
Plovdiv’s Markovo Tepe Mall has announced that its official opening is on October 28 2016 at 10am.
The project to complete Markovo Tepe Mall, at the intersection of Russki Boulevard and Gladstone Street in Bulgaria’s second city, dates back close to 10 years and through changes of ownership.
Musicians and television personalities will perform at the official opening and shops and businesses in the mall will be offering discounts and other special offers throughout the opening weekend.
Markovo Tepe Mall has a total area of 56 000 sq m, on four underground and four above-ground floors.

The Kino Arena Markovo Tepe Mall opens on October 28 and tickets for films are already on sale, Plovdiv news website podtepeto.com reported.
The cinema complex has six auditoriums, including an IMAX hall with 288 seats and a Premium hall with 191 seats.
On November 6 at 4pm, there will be a showing of the opera Norma, featuring Bulgarian soprano star Sonya Yoncheva, from the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden in London.
Russki Boulevard, in front of the mall, has been the scene of extensive roadworks for some time, closing the street, while Gladstone Street above the intersection also has been undergoing roadworks. On October 24, Plovdiv mayor Ivan Totev said that work on Gladstone Street would be completed within 20 days, around November 10. Work on various sections of Russki Boulevard is to continue for several months.
