Bulgaria Now podcast: No smoke without fire

The fire that gutted historic former tobacco warehouses in Plovdiv is the talk of the town – and the country, and the latest Bulgaria Now podcast.

The arrest of a homeless man, who denies wrongdoing, has been received with skepticism in some quarters, and not only from his lawyers. The Prosecutor-General has pledged that the investigation into the fires will not stop just with the arrest.

Is there no smoke without fire, and is there a smokescreen?

This is among the issues discussed by Bulgaria Now’s Lance Nelson and The Sofia Globe’s editor-in-chief Clive Leviev-Sawyer in the latest podcast, entitled No Smoke without Fire.

The conversation, however, does not dwell solely on Plovdiv. Lance and Clive also take a look at Sunny Beach, so famed recently for a whiff of gunsmoke, and touch on some of the controversy about the onecoin operation, which has a notable Bulgarian angle.
