Putin visits Greece for first time in 10 years

Russian president Vladimir Putin is on a working visit to Greece for the first time in 10 years, in the context of the votive Greece – Russia Year 2016 and as a sequel to the visits by Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to the Kremlin and the Financial St. Petersburg Forum last year, as well as the Greek president’s visit to Moscow in January this year.

The Russian President arrives on the afternoon of May 27 at Venizelos airport in Athens where he will be greeted by Defence Minister Panos Kammenos. He will then be directed to the Presidential Palace for talks with the President of the Greek Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos. The meeting between the two presidents will take about half an hour.

Immediately after that Putin will travel to Maximos Mansion to hold talks with Alexis Tsipras and official talks between the two delegations.
