European Parliament to vote on resolution on Poland
The European Parliament today will adopt a resolution on the situation in Poland in relation to the constitutional crisis sparked by conflict over the Constitutional Tribunal.
Poland’s “effective paralysis of the Constitutional Tribunal is a threat to democracy, human rights and the rule of law,” according to the draft resolution agreed on Monday by five of the European Parliament’s political groups —the centre-right European People’s Party, the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, the leftist Confederal Group of the European United Left-Nordic Green Left and the Greens/European Free Alliance.
