Poland’s ruling PiS seeks to merge General Prosecutor and Justice Minister functions
Poland’s parliament gave the initial go-ahead for the bill, authored by the ruling party Law and Justice (PiS), which provides for consolidating the post of Justice Minister and Prosecutor General despite protests from opposition parties.
Once the new bill on prosecutor’s office comes into effect Poland’s Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro will receive extensive powers.
