Earthquake of 6.1 Richter scale shakes Greece’s Ionian islands
An earthquake of 6.1 on the Richter scale occurred at 9.10am on November 17 about 27km west of the Ionian island of Lefkáda on the west coast of Greece, according to the European-Mediterranean seismological centre.
The earthquake was felt in Athens and in Bulgaria, according to media reports in Greece and Bulgaria.
There were no initial reports of damage from the quake, which was at a depth of two km.
It was followed at 9.18am by a quake in the same region measuring four on the Richter scale, another at 9.29am measuring 3.8 and another at 9.35am measuring 3.7 Richter scale.
