One dead in accident at Bulgarian mine

One person has died and another has been injured in an accident at the Erma Reka mine near Zlatograd in south-central Bulgaria, reports on June 25 said.

The person who died in the June 24 accident, identified as Kiril Minchev (48) was reported to have been an excavator, who was loading ore, reports from the scene said.

In the accident, which took place at about 300 metres underground, the two men were buried under the load.

The labour inspectorate has begun an investigation.

The mine has a previous record of fatal accidents, including in July and October 2014.
