Poles to choose president on May 10
Polish voters will head to the polls on Sunday May 10 for the first round of voting in the presidential election, as the incumbent president Bronislaw Komorowski’s term expires on August 6.
Should no candidate secure 50 per cent support in the first round of voting, the top two candidates will face off in a second round exactly two weeks later, on May 24.
Komorowski from the governing party Civic Platform (PO) has led the polls by a wide, albeit dwindling margin. Andrzej Duda of the chief opposition party Law and Justice (PiS) has increasingly set to force a run-off.
