Bulgaria welcomes Minsk deal on Ukraine
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said on February 12 2015 that he welcomed the agreement among the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France in Minsk on a cease-fire deal aimed at ending months of fighting that has killed thousands in eastern Ukraine.
The cease-fire, which will begin February 15, was announced following 16 hours of grueling, all-night talks in the Belarussian capital, the Voice of America reported.
“The first and most important step towards stopping the bloodshed was made,” Mitov said.
“I express deep hope that the agreements will be respected by all countries, and this will lead to lasting peace in Ukraine. This is important for all its citizens, including our compatriots, who have the right to live in a free and safe country,” he said.
