Damaged water main makes water in Varna unfit for drinking, cooking

Water in Bulgaria’s Black Sea region of Varna is unfit for drinking and cooking after a landslide damaged a water main, regional health authorities in the city said.

The landslide, near the village of Asparouhovo in the Dulgopol area, damaged a water main through which water is supplied to 75 per cent of consumers in the Varna area.

The health inspectorate confirmed that it had received a larger number of complaints about water coming out of the taps being murky. It said that a new analysis of water quality should be ready on the morning of February 11.
