Polish former president admits knowledge of CIA ‘black site’ in Poland
Former Polish president Aleksander Kwasniewski acknowledged on December 10 2014 the existence of the secret CIA prison after Poland had for years been denying that such a facility operated inside the country. At the same time he said Poland did not agree to harsh interrogation techniques used there.
Following the September 11 attacks on New York and the Pentagon, Poland did take up intelligence co-operation with the United States and let the CIA run a detention facility in the northern Polish village of Stare Kiejkuty but there was no consent for torturing, Kwasniewski, Poland’s president at the time the black site was operational, told Radio TOK FM.
