High turnout in Ukraine vote
An estimated 38.53 per cent of Ukrainians voted in the early presidential elections by 3pm, according to the Central Election Commission. The data was harvested from a sample of 13 district commissions out of 225.
More evidence emerged that Ukraine may be heading for a record voter turnout in the May 25 presidential election. OPORA, the election watchdog, says that 25 per cent of voters turned out by noon, with the lowest turnout naturally in the separatist-infiltrated eastern regions. But that quarter of the nation still had 22 per cent turnout, OPORA said.
