Sofia Design Week to begin on June 21
The annual Sofia Design Week is being held this year from June 21 to 30, the fifth consecutive year for the international festival for design and visual culture.
The series of events features a professional forum with prominent speakers from all over the world, as well as an extensive programme of open events aimed at a broader audience – exhibitions, workshops, discussions, talks, screenings, parties, book openings, events for children, according to the organisers, Edno magazine.
“Sofia Design Week strives to serve as a platform which stimulates and supports the development of design professionals in Bulgaria. At the same time the festival aims to present and promote sustainable and sensible practices for better and beneficial visual environment from around the world,” organisers say.
The 2013 Sofia Design Week includes “The Wishing Table”, an exhibition of Czech product design; “Hugs”, an exhibition of graphic design from Slovakia; “Taking a walk in Greek graphic design”; “Russian avant-garde literature in comics”; “In a nutshell”, exhibition of Croatian design; and Industrial Design from Israel.
