Flood Watch Budapest: 55 000 people may have to be evacuated, PM says

Up to 55 000 people could be evacuated in the Budapest area, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told MTI this morning. The main evacuation would be in the Óbuda area.

Last night the Danube rose 20 centimetres above the mainland and flooded some parts of the countryside along with the lower parts of Budapest closest to the river.
