Bulgaria’s Bozhurishte industrial area gets first tenant

German company Behr-Hella Thermocontrol GmbH will become the first tenant of the Bozhurishte industrial area on the outskirts of Sofia, investing 42.5 million leva to set up a research and development centre and manufacturing facilities, Bulgaria’s caretaker Economy Minister Assen Vassilev said on April 30.

Behr-Hella Thermocontrol GmbH will begin construction of its plant, which will manufacture air-conditioning equipment for cars and trucks, already this quarter. The plant will create 350 new jobs and is expected to become operational in the spring of 2014.

The Bozhurishte industrial area is targeting mainly export-oriented companies in the electronics and electrical equipment industry, Vassilev said.

Behr-Hella Thermocontrol GmbH also received a Class A investment certificate from Vassilev on April 30, giving the company a number of tax breaks.
