3.2 Richter scale earthquake in southern Bulgaria

An earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale occurred on April 14 at about 5.30pm near the southern Bulgarian town of Topolovgrad.

The earthquake, with an epicentre at a depth of 15km, was about 12km from Topolovgrad, 50km south-west of Yambol and about 240km from Bulgaria’s capital city of Sofia.

There have been a series of minor quakes near Topolovgrad in recent days, ranging from 2 to 3.5 on the Richter scale.
